TL;DR

Voltra Solar is a fictional reference build we use as a working demonstration of the Solar Lead Engine. 18 core pages plus 30 suburb landing pages, savings calculator, financing block, WhatsApp booking, schema-loaded GBP support, and a clean conversion path from cold visitor to booked consult. Live at voltra-solar.vercel.app. This post walks through what was built, why each section exists, and how a real installer can clone the structure for their own business.

We needed a reference solar installer site we could use to pitch the Solar Lead Engine program to working installers. Talking about "18 pages plus 30 suburb pages" is abstract until someone can click through it. So we built Voltra Solar: a complete demonstration site at voltra-solar.vercel.app showing exactly what an installer using the program would receive. Here is what got built and why.

The 18 core pages

Every solar installer site we build covers the same 18 pages because South African solar buyers ask the same questions and need the same trust signals. Skip a page and you create friction.

  • Home with hero, value prop, savings teaser, and 3-second trust block (years of experience, installs completed, average review).
  • About with founder photo, team, real story behind the business.
  • Residential Solar with system size guide, panel options, daily output examples for SA conditions.
  • Commercial Solar for businesses, B2B-tuned messaging, ROI calculator.
  • Off-Grid for farms, remote sites, lifestyle properties.
  • Hybrid Systems for grid-tied with battery backup.
  • Pricing with transparent tier breakdown.
  • Process from quote to installation, week by week.
  • Brands showing the inverter and panel manufacturers.
  • Financing with rent-to-own, lease, finance partner options.
  • FAQ with 25+ buyer-intent questions, schema-marked.
  • Contact with WhatsApp, phone, email, location, hours.
  • Quote Form with system sizing inputs that auto-route.
  • Booking Google Calendar embed for site visits.
  • Reviews live Google review pull-through with photos.
  • Case Studies 6 detailed installs with savings data.
  • Blog Hub educational content for SEO.
  • Privacy and Terms compliance baseline.

The 30 suburb landing pages

Voltra targets Gauteng. The 30 suburb pages cover Centurion, Pretoria East, Pretoria West, Pretoria North, Hatfield, Brooklyn, Lynnwood, Menlo Park, Waterkloof, Faerie Glen, Moreleta Park, Sandton, Sandhurst, Morningside, Rivonia, Bryanston, Hyde Park, Rosebank, Illovo, Melrose, Fourways, Midrand, Halfway House, Kyalami, Waterfall, Hartbeespoort, Brits, Krugersdorp, Roodepoort, Randburg.

Each page targets one suburb plus "solar installer" and includes localised copy (mention of suburb-specific traits like steep roof angles in Hartbeespoort, residential complex restrictions in Sandton), local schema, embedded map of the area, and a relevant testimonial from a previous install in or near that suburb. Suburb landing pages are the fastest local SEO accelerator.

The savings calculator

On the homepage and on every suburb page. Visitor enters their average monthly Eskom bill. Calculator estimates system size needed, monthly saving, payback period, and 25-year total saving. The output also generates a pre-filled quote request form, so the visitor can convert to a lead in one click.

We tested simpler "request a quote" forms against the calculator-driven flow. Calculator increased conversion from 1.2 percent to 4.6 percent of homepage visitors. Almost 4x lift. The reason: people want to feel in control before they hand over their phone number.

The WhatsApp booking flow

Floating WhatsApp button on every page. Click opens a chat with the message pre-filled: "Hi, I am interested in solar for my home in [suburb detected from page]". On Voltra this routes to a GPT-4o bot that qualifies (suburb, monthly bill, roof type, urgency) and books a site visit to a Google Calendar in 2 to 3 messages. Same architecture we deploy for live installers.

Schema markup baked in

Every page has correct schema: LocalBusiness with sub-type SolarEnergyEquipmentSupplier, Service for each solar system tier with priceRange, FAQPage on every service and suburb page, BreadcrumbList for navigation, and Review aggregate pulled from Google. Full schema audit checklist here.

Performance numbers

  • Mobile LCP: 1.8 seconds (Google Lighthouse mobile).
  • Desktop LCP: 0.9 seconds.
  • CLS: 0 (no layout shifts).
  • Mobile Lighthouse Performance: 96.
  • SEO score: 100.
  • Best Practices: 100.
  • Pages prerendered as static HTML: 48 (18 core + 30 suburbs).

These numbers are not aspirational, they are measured. Lighthouse the demo yourself at voltra-solar.vercel.app to verify. Mobile speed under 2.5s is the floor for credible local SEO.

What it would cost a real installer

Voltra is a demo. For a real installer the same scope is the Solar Lead Engine package: R29,900 once-off (R14,950 on signature, R14,950 on launch), then R3,500 per month from day 121. Plus our 120-day top 3 guarantee. The build time is 4 to 6 weeks from kickoff to launch, with the GBP rebuild and review campaign starting in week 1.

Frequently asked questions

Is Voltra Solar a real installer?

No. It is a fictional brand we use as a working demo. Real installers using the Solar Lead Engine get a build at the same standard tied to their own brand, address, GBP, and reviews. We do not put your business under the Voltra umbrella.

Can I copy the design?

If you are technical, you can study the structure and rebuild it yourself. The structure is the easy part. The hard work is the suburb-specific copy, the GBP rebuild, the review campaign, the WhatsApp automation, and the schema. That is what the program delivers, end-to-end.

How is this different from a R7,900 web design build?

Scope. A R7,900 site is 5 pages, 1 month delivery, no suburb pages, no GBP campaign, no review automation, no WhatsApp bot. The Solar Lead Engine is 48 pages, 4 to 6 week build, GBP rebuild + review push + WhatsApp automation + 120 day guarantee. Different product for a different stage of business.

Do you do this for non-solar industries?

Solar is the only niche we have productised so far. Other industries (plumbers, electricians, dentists, accountants) get custom-quoted using the same architecture but without the fixed-scope guarantee. See custom builds here.
